The winners of the second Boostcamp Microsoft Innovation Center in Brussels (Brussels MIC) were announced during the final and award ceremony which took place on the 25th of October. The three winners were distinguished on the criteria of project maturity, potential business and quality of the presentation.
The three winners are:
Vincent Theeten for his project of CHEQROOM (which allows small and medium sized companies to do a better job at tracking their valuable equipment, using this web application and mobile apps, users can access the information about the status of their equipment from at their desk or on the road) and was awarded with the Grand Prize handed over by Denis Lievens, representing the Minister of Economy of Brussels-Capital, Benoit Cerexhe.
Tarik Hennen for his project of SMARTFLATS (which offer a new kind of hotel chain providing a selection of short-term rental accommodations in combination with traditional hotel services) has been awarded the prize of Brussels-Capital Region , presented by Bruno Wattenbergh, Chairman of Management Committee and CEO of MIC Brussels ABE-BAO-BEA.
Anne Osterrieth for her project of JARDISSIMO (is an on-line practical guide for garden lovers which simplifies gardening with brief, timely and to the point information related to your own garden and information needs) who has received the Experts prize, presented by Ben Piquard, Director of the Executive Committee of the MIC Brussels, Expert and Director of BizSpark for startups at Microsoft.

About the MIC Brussels:
Over the last year, the MIC Brussels has welcomed more than 1,700 people in networking activities or coaching. Since launching last September, 175 certificates were issued to job seekers, 14 startups have already been created in Brussels and more than 50 jobs have already been generated through the Boostcamps, the coaching of trainees and activities partnership with Evoliris, Bruxelles Formation and Cefora. The MIC Brussels also starts an Internship program in the early 2013 in partnership with IT BECI to accommodate fifteen students in the third year of the Bachelor of Computer HEB ESI, the Institut Paul Lambin and VUB.
The MIC Brussels continues to expand its collaboration with Evoliris and it will coach in 2013 a new group of trainees with Bruxelles Formation, and Cefora Evoliris. The Memorandum of Understanding signed last March between Betagroup, ABE-BAO-BEA, and the MIC Brussels WeStartup allows to offer a well-structured monitoring to follow the startups Brussels and startups graduates in the Boostcamp with the benefit of a free week at the coworking Betagroup well as monitoring of the EBA.
