Laurent Vanbelle: expert of the month, consultant, .Net Architect and trainer on Microsoft technologies

Posté le

Bachelor in IT, I have 15 years of experience as a consultant and trainer on Microsoft Technologies.

At the end of my elementary school, a computer entered the door of my house. You all probably remember the name of those “computers”, commodore Vic20 and the commodore 64.

I could make my first step with computer development… And I’m still busy with development, this is in my DNA!

I remember that I was developing applications for school for my friends to help them in studying courses like Mathematics, French or Geography.

Afterwards, a little bit older, during my further studies, I took part of a Computer Club organized by the school.

In the next weeks, again in cooperation with the MIC Brussels, I will animate workshops about Robotics. We hope with those workshops triggering their interest in new technologies.

It is very important to get young kids familiar with the computers. This is key in their development. Especially for the logic and the specific approach to problems.

On top of this, working with computer help the children to automate the tasks through development. For each age, there is a specific tool. This can be through robotics to bring some fun, or through applications with a screen as interface.

You can find a lot of educational games on the market to help your children to learn while they are playing.

Those games will allow your children to get an initiation to science and develop their imagination.

Today, it is key that the ability to develop is not only accessible to specialists and the senior developer! It must be accessible to all. In fact, this is as much important as grammar!

It is the challenge today: in a Digital World, we must provide the keys to the children to be to face this world in their day-to-day life! And more important, they should learn with a lot of fun! Because playing is essential for a child!

Internet is a great technology, but still not free of danger! I thus cooperate with schools to give some workshops to their students to educate them about the dangers of using Internet in an uncontrolled way.

About Laurent Vanbelle:
I started as Developer Analsyt and Trainer for Ezos till 2008. I then moved to Project Manager and Senior Trainer at Vision-Ezos until 2011.

This was then the moment for me to join the cooperative company Neomytic, the center of expertise around Microsoft Technologies. We are located in Mons.

Neomytic is a network of freelance consultants specialized in collaboration, the communication and the enterprise mobility.

I have had multiple roles within Neomytic : Consultant, .Net Architect and Trainer for all technologies around .Net Framework.

Through this Trainer role, I can share my knowledge and experience for IT Professionals, but also for IT beginners or students that want to quickly acquire the right level of Development competency in Microsoft Technologies.

Getting a Microsoft certification is very important! This will not only give the evidence that you master the specific Microsoft competency, but this will also help you to develop your career plan!

Since 2 years now, I give workshops to prepare people in getting Microsoft Certificates. This program is an initiative of the MIC Brussels.

I am working with different public organizations in charge of vocational education and the training authorities. Together, we are able to setup long term classroom program for people searching for a job. During 2012 and 2013, I enjoyed being the coach in Mobile Technologies for all those people.

As you see, in my job, this is not only about having a lot of skills and experience, but more important: this is about sharing this experience to others. There is nothing more grateful that seeing somebody you coached doing a great career!
