Qustomer: the engaging marketing and loyalty solution for local businesses by Alexis d’Oultremont

Qustomer is an engaging marketing and loyalty solution for local businesses.

In minutes, local merchants can setup their customized loyalty program on their tablet and reward their best clients.

By using the solution, business owners start to build their customer database which can be used to send beautiful newsletters, digital coupons and messages to their loyal customers in a few clicks.

Consumers love Qustomer too. They can get rid of their thousands of loyalty cards since the same Qustomer card works everywhere. With our mobile application for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone, people do not need a physical card anymore to collect points and are able to check their points status and rewards directly on their smartphone.

Qustomer was founded by Antoine Humbeeck, Alexandre Cardon, Quentin Adam and Alexis d’Oultremont on the idea that local businesses do not take advantage of the new technologies to attract, develop and retain customers.

The team started the development of the product in June 2012 and conducted a successful pilot during the last quarter of 2012 in Brussels. Beginning of 2013, Qustomer defined a sales strategy to develop its network of partners across Belgium. One year and a half later, Qustomer has become the leading loyalty solution for local businesses in Belgium with 750 retailers and 420k consumers and is still growing quickly.

Qustomer has won prestigious startup prizes such as Bizidee, Enterprize, Accenture Innovation Awards and of course the MIC Acceleration Program ā€˜Grand Prize’ in 2014.

Our advice to young entrepreneurs:

- Test your product on the market with real (and paying) clients as soon as possible ā€œIf you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too lateā€ - Reid Hoffman

- Test your hypothesis and quickly refine your product to meet market needs. We must have around 50 versions of our main app.

- Do not think your product will sell by itself. Building a product is 50% of the journey, putting it in customer hands is trickier.

- Keep it simple
