Microsoft Virtual Academy, lovingly known as MVA by the whole team here at Microsoft, is a comprehensive learning destination with hundreds of courses divided into over twenty topic areas. Whether you’re a developer, start-up, student or an IT professional, there’s certain to be a course (at least one, probably many) that will benefit you.

For example, if you’re just getting into development, we have some Fundamentals Courses, delivered by the awesome Bob Tabor:

Or you want to jump in and try something really quick, there’s the Quick Start Challenge topic area, filled with cool stuff like these:

These are just a small taste of some of the introductory level courses, but you’ll find them in almost every topic area. But if you want to get deeper, we have that covered too. For example, check out these

We’re committed to helping you be prepared to do what you need to do. We’re fully supportive of helping you skill up and be able to develop, architect, design and deploy solutions that integrate other technologies with the Microsoft stack. So if you’re an IT pro that needs to configure Linux VMs to run on Azure, we’ve got you covered. Just like if you wanted to use GitHub for your code repository. Or Python and MongoLab for some dev work. Or if you’re coming from the VMware world. Or… well, you get the picture.

MVA also has a number of features to help you make the most of your learning. First is the Learning Plan. At any point, if you see a course you want to take, simply add it to your Learning Plan and then you can access it from your Dashboard.

From your Dashboard, you can see how many MVA points you have, what your level and ranking is, and easily see your learning plan and course progress. You’ll even be notified when there is new or updated content like this:

Finally, you’ll also find all your completed courses listed here too. Each MVA course comes with a Certificate of Completion, that you can download and include in your CV or put up on your wall to show that you’ve gone through the training. Cool, huh?

Get started now!
