Information is power, but information overload can be hard to handle by Edoardo Camilli co-founder of hozint

Hozint - Horizon Intelligence helps companies and organizations monitoring information relevant to their businesses and projects. Hozint’s online platform “Horizon” scans the deep web to aggregate news, analyses and forecasts released by news agencies, think tanks, social media, public and private institutions. The content found on the web is then revised and summarized by analysts in order to provide users with very compelling information to their needs.

The first monitoring project launched by the Brussels-based startup aims at monitoring information on countries’ political stability and security. Horizon categorizes all information by country and topics like cybersecurity, economy, energy, politics, safety and security. The user can easily follow the flow of information by creating his/her own “focuses” (i.e. combination of countries/regions and topics), and decide to receive email notifications in real time or daily/weekly digests.

Founded by two country risk analysts Edoardo Camilli and Blaise Ortiz and by the web developer Matthieu Baudoux, Hozint is the winner of the Brussels Capital Region prize awarded by the Microsoft Innovation Center in December 2014. Winning the Boostcamp has been a game changer for Hozint, says co-founder Edoardo Camilli. Thanks to the Boostcamp and its incredible coaches, we were able to build a solid business plan, and to literally “boost” our confidence in this project. We came out of the Boostcamp with three major advices, which I would like to share with young entrepreneurs:

  • Be ambitious in your goal
  • Be realistic in your plan
  • Talk to your prospects to truly understand their needs and wants

Hozint will soon launch tailor-made monitoring services, while in the future the company is planning to explore the field of Big Data.
